Ben Taub is offering an exceptional opportunity for two clinical nursing leaders with expert knowledge, skills and abilities to provide leadership at the bedside for specified Medical/Surgical and Trauma Intensive Care nursing units. Reporting directly to the Administrative Director of Nursing for the service, this master’s prepared professional will collaborate with the service director to create a care environment where high quality, patient-centered outcomes exemplify a culture of patient safety. The ideal candidate will be a proven change agent who will serve as a coach and role model for professional nursing practice. This position supports a unique organizational capacity strategic initiative that offers the ideal candidate an opportunity to join accomplished nurse leaders who have already created significant change, enhancing the team and taking nursing at Ben Taub Hospital to the next level.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
Minimum qualifications include:
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a master’s degree in nursing or related field. Recognition as an advanced practice nurse/CNS preferred.
• Certification in a clinical nursing specialty is to be completed within two years if not held at the time of appointment.
• Current license or valid permit to practice nursing in Texas.
• Five years of work experience in related clinical area of practice.
• Related clinical/leadership experience is preferred.
• Clinical teaching/competency assessment and validation skills.
• Able to work flexible hours to support off-shift assessment and development needs.
